09.06.2023Yeah the arcade sports game now you have to be lucky to search for them on the online store. They need to bring back NBA and nfl street back. NFL blitz also

09.06.2023Just bring them back. For the past few years you got Burnout Paradise remastered, Everybody's Golf, Mutant League Football and Rocket League and you got exclusives for every version of Rocket League. But with basketball heavens forbid that we don't have a NBA game for the next year. You know what happened to the WWE 2K games? Everyone got burned out on them and the new one was buggy. Because if you hold off a FIFA game for the next gen consoles for a year you can improve the game. But at least Tiger Woods is coming back to the consoles. If you bring out a new NBA Jam or NFL Blitz game the money is going to be doubled than the regular NBA or NFL game. That's my opinion and I have more fun with the arcade sports game than the regular sports game and I can just watch highlights of Shaq and Doctor J

09.06.2023I think arcade sports are kinda dead sadly. I remember having Madden and trying out NFL blitz and that’s how I got into arcade sport games. Also they aren’t super expensive so when I need to budget extra hard they are always my go to.

07.06.2023Excellent topic. NBA Jam all the way! Curious if you have ever played punch-out the arcade version?

07.06.2023The pinnacle of arcade sports titles was in the 1990's. There is only so much you can do with these types of games. There are ways to add new gameplay features to liven it up. Windjammers 2 is coming out this year. Have you played the first one?

07.06.2023On my 10th birthday I got the SNES multitap and rented NBA Jam. We did a tournament for the entire evening. It was a blast. On the N64, Blitz was king. So many memories. The problem nowadays is all these pansies are worried about getting CTE from just watching helmet to helmet hits and now Blitz is a relic of gaming history.

07.06.2023I miss arcade sports games so much

07.06.2023Dude I just did another GameStop Roulette and picked up WWE All Stars and NBA Jam both on the Xbox360. Arcade sports are great…. maybe mix the Madden Realism with the over the top. In other words lets got GTA with Madden LOL I have a feeling NFL wouldn't be happy if a video game was made where as the QB you could brandished a gun and take out the Defensive line even if it was just a video game… LOL

07.06.2023I downloaded a indy baseball game on 3ds "arc baseball" its fun but too easy its basically a home run derby.
I think that arcade sports games helped the sim sports game companys like EA. I mean I don't like basketball but games like street are dope. So for EA thats 1 more customer they didnt have before. So i think getting rid of the arcade style games is a dumb move for companys because there are so many customers they aren't getting. I will never buy a the show or nba2k game cuz I don't like them. Give me ken griffy Jr presents, or hang time any day

07.06.2023This is a topic I love to get behind! I think about this genre ALOT and how much I miss it. I just came to the conclusion over the years that these games are appealing to only the minority and therefore won’t sell as well as maybe a game that’s much more current and popular in today’s day. I think if they did bring us these games back they could model it on a rocket league type system with low requirements needed to run it and making it available on all systems with cross play. I used to LOVE a game called RedCard which was just pure carnage style football/soccer. Also I was expecting a ps5 based video from you guys, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Cheers for another great discussion in this video! 🍻 🎮

07.06.2023You know, I never noticed that the Arcadey Sports genre got over saturated, even when it was happening right in front of me. Probably because after the PS2 and OG Xbox days, my Brother and I just stopped playing those types of games. When the Wii, PS3, 360 generation hit, I started playing a ton of action-adventure RPGs like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Still hella into that genre today.

06.06.2023Let's hope they bring this genre to the new gens.
IMO it's more entertaining than sports games.
Btw guys, keep up ❤.

Not a fan of the genre at all.

06.06.2023We all know that Wii Sports killed arcade sports like a comet killing the dinosaurs 🦕!
I just bought my daughter a Wii U for her birthday… which isn't for like 4 months, but why waste a good summer in the house? She always wants to play Mario 3D World when she's at her mom's house.
And it conveniently came with 9 games, 8 of which I don't own yet 😉. I already have Zombie U, because apparently GameStop was giving them away as coasters or something a few months ago 🤣. I told her mom that she can have the duplicate one. She's getting the GameStop case though, I'm keeping the original for my hoarding, I mean, collecting.
Now if only I knew how to h*ck this f*cker!

06.06.2023Some really good points I also feel the licensing is different now , like only 2k can make wwe games and 2k with basketball games where back in the day you had multiple companies making sports game with the license . It seems to be more exclusive now

04.06.2023I would love to see a new arcade hockey game. I’m a huge hockey fan. I play hockey in the local adult league (I’m a goalie). I just can’t play the NHL games. For one, they are way too complex and two…they are made exclusively by EA and I try not to give EA money.

04.06.2023Loved NFL Blitz, NFL Street, Jam and some of the Wrestlemania Sports games! I was kind of excited to see that next year instead of a series Wrestling game, they were gonna go for a more "arcade" feel. Hope that works out! Great video guys!

04.06.2023👍 For demo discs. Game demo's for that matter. Even AOL 4.0 frisbees with 1000 free minutes!!! 🙂
6:50 My brother has a complete top-end electronic drum kit for the most recent Rock Band. The reason why these games won't sell anymore is due to the cost of licensing good music from actual popular artists.
The only way they survive is if they have the following of krakens like my brother, who went all-in purchasing every track in the game over the years (there's a lot)… And people went ape-shit when they told players this was the last time they would allow transfers of music libraries. This is why there will likely not be another Rock Band in the future. Even if it is a quality game overall. You need the tunes…
The real-life scenario has played out several times for Rockstar. If you have a sharp memory, you may remember GTA Vice City had issues resolving the Michael Jackson license. GTA 4 had this issue as well with pretty much the entire Vladstock FM station. It's not that they _couldn't have made an effort to those licenses reissued, they likely didn't want to pay the licensing fee to keep them. So Rockstar went and bought cheaper music. They wised up at least so far when it cones to GTA V.

I wished you guys would have mentioned the "Human Malware" being another reason why the real token Arcade Games are unlikely to return. That is where NBA JAM, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Blitz and Hitz. Goldeneye for N64 was originally designed to be an arcade shooter. What if we wouldn't of had this genre to draw inspiration from back in the late 90's? Something to think about I guess.
Stay healthy, and keep up the good work guys.

04.06.2023I miss those days so much! My biggest memories are with NBA Street 1 and NHL Hitz 20-02 on the GameCube. I literally got addicted to both of those gamea and probably put 100 hours into each. I was so good I could DESTROY the computer on the hardest difficulty and anyone I played against. I remember listening to Korn on the awesome soundtrack in NHL Hitz haha

04.06.2023Awesome video, my favorite arcade game was NBA Ballers from 2002 I spent hours as a kid playing it. It had everything fun gameplay, customization, heaps of single player content, an awesome roster (No MJ though) and it had that easy to pick up but rewarding to master gameplay loop.

04.06.2023Fellas if you don't like soccer games I think you'd get a kick outta the Fifa Street series especially numba 2 they're so much fun

04.06.2023We need to have a get together sometime and play some of these arcade sports games. Not just good co op but also great party games
