Major League Baseball – Intellivision. The system seller for Mattel’s video game console, and for good reason: it’s one of the best sports video games of the classic era. Designed for Mattel at game developer APh by designer David Rolfe.

10.11.2022THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GAME, but I HATED it was a two player game ONLY.

08.11.2022Sounds like my childhood!! Spent many hours playing these games! My folks still have the console and games somewhere in the house!!

08.11.2022Remember turning triple plays with the pitcher starting it . The pitcher could snag tons of hits

08.11.2022We found that the only pitch that couldn't often be hit that well was an inside slow pitch. So we would pitch one type of pitch all game every game.

08.11.2022Outstanding! To this date still one of the most engaging and entertaining two player games ever made. The Intellivision console had twice the processing power of Atari and a revolutionary color display. It cost 225 1981 dollars and was the standard for many years until Nintendo and Sega. The player control was unique with its flat rectangular shape and 8 direction circular pad at the bottom you controlled with your thumb along with the number pad in the top portion of the control. My brother and I played Baseball for hours and became extremely efficient at defense, on a couple of occasions playing out an intense 1-0 9 inning game, the only run on one of those uncatchable flutter balls down the line that went for a home run. Thanks for the video with sound.

08.11.2022Wow. These sounds bring me back

08.11.2022I remember the key to getting a lot more runners out when the ball was hit to the outfield was to throw to second then first not throw straight to first.

08.11.2022Boy this brings back memories

08.11.2022I used to play this with my dad. Thanks for the memories!

08.11.2022I had an atari but wish I had intellivision instead. I'd go to the mall and play this and the football game at the display in the dept.store.

08.11.2022Great game. Lots of 1-0 games with great defense

06.11.2022We used to enjoy the drama of whether a ball would be a home run or not. without a fence or fly balls in this game, you never knew if a liner (or even a slow floater) would bounce or disappear in the outfield. Loved. This. Game.

06.11.2022This game was infuriating, Ony second to Nintendo Baseball.

06.11.2022Used to play this a lot back in the day, we even had our own championships 🙂

06.11.2022I'm still active, putting out classic game videos. I have an Intellivision playlist if anyone wants to watch more:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6F2249C34BF2B82A
Or a general retro game playlist if anyone has hours to burn. Just play it in the background and take a peek now and then 😉 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL29Nw7At9Gp0CfAhZ1sibVsAAFsGwFc2K

06.11.2022Nice memories but the game got boring real fast. You could grab most hits with the pitcher for easy outs,, and the ones hit to the left were easily taken by the shortstop or third baseman. The only way to really get a hit without it being fast enough to be a home run was to sneak one into a VERY narrow corridor between the pitcher and second baseman…and then, it would only be a single.

06.11.2022Great game. Too bad it didn't had a one player option at the time. Best video game console of its time.

05.11.2022I've always thought it was funny how all the players looked like bathroom signs.

05.11.2022Pretty sure this was the game where I’d bring every fielder within like two feet of the batter and he’d get out every time.

05.11.2022I used to CRUSH my mom and dad at this game! haha great memories!!!

05.11.2022I was a boss at this game. No matter what, always push the pitcher button first the moment the opponent hits the ball. 50% of the balls hit pass by the pitcher. Easy outs. This game and Burgertime. Not as good at Locknchase, however.
Guy H
05.11.2022Played hundreds of games ‘back in the day’. My brother and I made up fantasy teams, made rosters, set lineups, kept statistics. Too much fun, sweet memories of growing up in the 80’s.
Tex ‘The Cowboy’ Randowski.
Lmao big brother

05.11.2022We got so good the every game was 1-0. You had to get a hit with 0 outs and sacrifice around…

05.11.2022Now I know why kids in the 70s played outside more

05.11.2022i love the roar of the crowd. Intellivision was the best system. Can't wait for the Intellivision Amico to get released.

04.11.2022My dad is a legend at this game and he is 65 years old!! He can do a triple play in this game. Also he can throw the ball 20x faster than this guy!! Its amazing how he plays this game!! He can beat me at this game, but when he goes on a ps5 he cant play worth a damn.
773SleepyHollow
04.11.2022It's unfortunate for the defense that the pitcher can't pitch the ball as fast as he can throw it to the center fielder…
Joe S
04.11.2022Used to watch my cousins play it in 84
Brett Shepherd
04.11.2022My mom was good at this game…RIP MOM

04.11.2022We though this was sooooo cutting edge then but watching it now man its bad lol that's all we had lol so

04.11.2022Great graphics

04.11.2022You needed to put in a pitch runner for that yellow guy. Good bat but a shitty base runner.

04.11.2022Best baseball game ever!
